Beautiful

The 2009 Autumn and Winter supplement to the absolutely fabulous FANTASTIC MAN magazine is BEAUTIFUL, and it really is! From the monochrome cover that is just ever so slightly rough to the touch, to the model that tease you inside with his beautiful smile.

In this article, Aggie explores the subject of beauty as it is expressed in the printed media.

If you follow the enticing young man inside you scan the word LABELS at the top of the page, and paging over you find yet another great smile, and this time one that welcome you proper. You are relieved to find that the face has a name (you know what I mean) and pleased to discover that Ben Cohen is not only good looking, but an honest to goodness pink idol, well known rugby player and father of two.

FANTASTIC MAN describe the genesis of BEAUTIFUL as a dialogue between them-self and ABSOLUT VODKA, how trendy is that, over the latter's poetic advertising stance, and glamorous too! You may never have guessed it, but I really liked the supplement a lot!

Further sorties between the covers tease you with names such as Tinita Tikaram, still fabulous, living in London and has a BRITA, to Julie Brown, resplendent and looking GORGEOUS in her naughty twin forties birthday surprise. She totally loves goat cheese, and you find yourself wonder if that could be the reason why by anybodies guess she doesn't look a day older than 20?

Which is exactly the reason I decided to write this little tirade. In her answer to the standard-first-interview question about what they see in the mirror she complains about growing old, and just like almost every other idol or diva you find in the book, not even one mention of a twinkle or smile that would make it all sound worth while in the end.

If that is what it means to grin and bear it in a world without labels, then bring on the GUCCI, cause sisters, I don't know how? Word is that beauty is more than skin deep, but I am convinced that it is also more than the daily ignore of the image you see in the mirror each day? Word is also that beauty is happy and pleased, some would even say gay, at least some of the time?

Labeled or not, famous or hot they must have friends? People they love who they trust, and who would have enough guts to engage them in more than the fame of their seemingly dreary existence? Which just goes to prove that to have is not worth much if you don't hold on the magic and wonder of life.

Did I hear anyone looking for a life-coach, or perhaps a mentor of some kind?
